Do most wealthy want to give back to their country or will they have to go kicking and screaming?

Some like Bill Gates and Warren Buffet have said they don't need the cuts and if it helped their country they are all for a tax hike. Since they got the most from the American dream, they understand that giving back is important, even if it is more than others and "not fair" as Republicans like to say. They see it as fair, why cant Republicans?Do most wealthy want to give back to their country or will they have to go kicking and screaming?
It is not that the wealthy are against them having to pay more taxes than the poorer classes (by proportion %). It is about the idea of them paying the SAME amount. For over a decade, the wealthy have been enjoying more of their money by proportion than the lower classes already with less. Certain businesses have, despite common sense, have actually RECEIVED money from the government instead of actually paying their taxes.

The simple truth is that the inequality decried by Republicans for an increase in taxes on the rich will actual bring more equality.
Poppycock! Despite loopholes, etc, average joe X several million (let's drop quintiple and up) millionaires paid, after all honest tax tricks and loopholes (wow, NO child tax credit -- phased out) 'earned income tax credit' -- phased out) (home mortgage tax deduction still works) and the fed tax bit

e was 30%. This contrasts starkly with "loopholes" that provide payments to a portion of the 47% who pay NO fed taxes. Your arguments are garbage.

Why just the wealthy? Why not ask do ALL Americans want to give back to their country.

I do not see anything stopping the wealthy from donating to charity or taking a couple of dozen families and buying then a home, or buying a few hundred cars so people would have reliable transportation to get to and from work, etc etc etc.

But as appears to be the norm with liberals you want to talk about it and attack others for not doing it but not do it yourself. Its kind of the "Green" philosophy, you want the windmills, you want the solar farms........until they want to put it in your back yard.

I still believe punishing success is wrong as is rewarding failure (or laziness).Do most wealthy want to give back to their country or will they have to go kicking and screaming?
Bill Gates, Warren Buffet and YOU are all free to give* as much to society as you choose.

BTW, you realize that under the American tax system, the "rich" (top 10%) pay more in taxes as a ratio to their share of the income? Even more so than the liberal utopias across the pond...

US: Share of taxes = 45.1%, Share of income = 33.5%, RATIO = 1.35

France: 28%, 25.5%, 1.10

Italy: 42.2%, 35.8%, 1.18

...and so on. I'll save you the suspense, US is the highest.

But don't let facts get in the way of your wealth envy.

*Give, not "give back". "Give back" implies that something was taken in the first place. Bill Gates already exchanged Windows products with "society" in exchange for his billions of $. And through this free exchange, BOTH parties gained. Bill Gates took nothing from society, so he has nothing to "give back".
I believe most wealthy do not want to give back to their country. People like Bill Gates and Warren Buffett are the rare exceptions who became so incredibly wealthy that they couldn't help but develop a guilty conscience.
Soros?

Your examples of the 'rich' ignore what you liberals define as 'rich', and that is folks %26gt;100K / year.

Nothing special about that, you need to be a little lucky or hard working to do that.

A haircut for hard working people to pay for sloths and wasteful duplicative government programs? You are dreaming.
2 of the richest men in the world. Big whoop, let them pay my share then. Or how about you, how much do you pay every year?

Also, Bill Gates started his foundation and donated 10s of billions to it, guess who controls the money, thats right fool, Bill Gates. It was all a sham to avoid taxes.
Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are both philanthropists who care as much about their country and it's people as their own personal wealth. The majority of Republicans think it's theivery to tax the rich.
They give way more then you do. Way more

I bet you didn't pay a dollar in federal taxes but you probably got a tax credit back. Where do you think that comes from?

How many people have you provided jobs for in your life?
Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are free to write that check to Uncle Sam and nothing is stopping them now.

Fair? You do not know the meaning of the word. There is no fair in theft.
There are more incredibly wealthy democrats than Republicans, guess what, they are allowed to give as much as they want to the federal government, funny thing they won't do it unless forced to.
They evidently don't know they can send EXTRA money to the IRS.

Everyone should send Extra Money to the IRS to help Feed the Democrats who won't work.
Because most of them don't have the compassion and integrity of Bill Gates and Warren Buffet.
When you are born to wealth and luxury then "giving back" is a concept so foreign that it may as well be an alien language.
"Giving back" is a nonsensical fraud. Giving back implies that something was taken. It was not it, it was earned. Flunk.
Talk is cheap let them send it in to the treasure.
I call it stealing from rich people . The Government does not earn it only takes .
