Why are liberals misquoting what Warren Buffet is saying about taxes on the rich?

Buffet isn't considering people that make over $200k a year rich like liberals do.

Buffett, by the way, isn't proposing a blanket increase on today's entire top tax bracket, those making over $379,150, many of whom protest against the idea that they are "rich." Buffett is suggesting the implementation of two new brackets--one for taxpayers making over $1 million, of whom there are 237,000 in the country, and one for taxpayers making over $10 million, of whom there are only 8,000.

In other words, Buffett's tax-increase-on-the-super-rich would affect 1 in 1,253 Americans, less than 1/10th of 1% of the population.

Why do libs try to twist what he really said?

Who said he was considering people 200k-1 million rich?

I thought it was interesting that he felt it unfair he was at a lower tax bracket than his secretary. all the conservatives could respond with, was why doesn't he just give it to the government. %26gt;L.A.M.E.%26lt;

He is no different from anyone else, he isn't going to just hand the government free money, no matter how much he has.

BTW, I'm Independent and I don't think people that make 500k a year a "rich". It may appear that way to someone making 30k a year, but in the grand scheme of things its just a few pennies more.
We're all well aware of what Buffet described. Personally I'm all for extending tax brackets on the wealthy all the way up to a "48 for 4.8" bracket of 48% for those who have annual incomes in excess of $4.8 million per year. Why are liberals misquoting what Warren Buffet is saying about taxes on the rich?
Actually, the recent post I saw linked to Buffet's op-ed. There was no misquoting.
I am sure that they don't even realize that they are doing that. reading comprehension can be a real problem for many liberals..Why are liberals misquoting what Warren Buffet is saying about taxes on the rich?
We really didn't misquote him.

Perhaps, you misread.
We don't. You imagine that.
I just finished a couple days of researching info from 2009 on the IRS site and am pleased to see a question with real, accurate numbers in it for a change.

I'd like to add that those $1,000,000 and above earners for 2009 paid just under 24% of their Total Income in personal income taxes. They paid ~$187.5B in taxes, leaving them $551B in their pockets.

If we were to take (tax) them 100%, everything, all of what they earned in 2009, and applied it to just the deficit proposed in the President's proposed 2012 Budget....the country would still go $1.2 Trillion further into debt.

I am afraid people, our friends and fellow citizens do not have a grasp of the Enormity of the Numbers we are talking about. Until the Media actually reports the unbiased truth and in terms the average masses will comprehend, we are doomed to hear the lower income half of the population Demand that we fix their economic problems by taking more from the Rich.

Sorry this was so long, I do tend to get carried away.
