Are fat people going to hell?

The NT warns about overdoing it with the alcohol, abstaining from drugs and loose flings, AND gluttony (exessive eating and drinking). I don't ever hear of preachers warning against the latter. Is it because most of them I see are obese? I'm not talking about the few that are obese due to glandular malfunctions. I have referring to those who's second home is McDonalds and Old Country Buffet. I am not poking fun but I sincerely want to know! Thanks :)Are fat people going to hell?
Despite what anyone says, no one goes to hell for sin, they go for not accepting Jesus. Thats the gospel truth.
Preachers can't condemn them to hell, can't drive away the cash cows! Are fat people going to hell?
I've often wondered why Christianity is so vehemently against homosexuality, but rarely seems to mention the gluttony issue.

Maybe because gays are in the minority and fat people (at least in America) are in the majority?
do you suppose souls are fat or thin?

I think the passages you refer to were indicative of a desire for moderation in all things, not a condemnation of obesity or anorexia for that matter. Judge not lest ye be judged in like manner. Are fat people going to hell?
No....bc none of us are perfect. We are all works in progress no matter what faith we are. I believe as long as we are working towards a spiritual relationship with God/dess and trying to live the best we can w/in our beliefs there's no way u can go to hell. Asking for forgiveness/learning to forgive oneslef and putting forth the effort to not do it again....will keep u from said Hell.

Everybody falls short....Wide or slim thick or thin....(sorry i was singin a song for a minute)
Sin is sin and sin can be forgiven. Fat people don't go to hell in any greater number than alcoholics or whores. Although eating at McDonald's and Old Country Buffet is a crime against the palette, it's not a mortal sin.
What, though, constitutes a glutton, and what do the Christian Greek Scriptures say about this topic? A glutton is defined as “one given habitually to greedy and voracious eating and drinking.” Thus, for one thing, gluttony is a form of greed, and God’s Word tells us that “greedy persons” are the sort of people who will not inherit God’s Kingdom. (1?Corinthians 6:9,?10; Philippians 3:18,?19; 1?Peter 4:3) In addition, when the apostle Paul warned Christians against practicing “the works of the flesh,” he mentioned “drunken bouts, revelries, and things like these.” (Galatians 5:19-21) Overeating often accompanies drunken bouts and revelries. Moreover, gluttony certainly is included in Paul’s expression “and things like these.” As with the other “works of the flesh,” a Christian who is widely known for his gluttony and who stubbornly refuses to change his greedy behavior ought to be removed from the congregation.—1?Corinthians 5:11,?13.

obesity may be a sign of gluttony, but that is not always the case. One’s being overweight may be the result of an ailment. Hereditary factors may also contribute to obesity. We should also keep in mind that obesity is a physical condition, while gluttony is a mental attitude. Obesity is defined as “a condition characterized by excessive bodily fat,” whereas gluttony is “greedy or excessive indulgence.” Thus, gluttony is not determined by someone’s size but by his attitude toward food. A person may be of normal size or may even be thin and yet be a glutton. Furthermore, what is viewed as the ideal weight or shape varies considerably from place to place.

What are signs of gluttony? A glutton routinely shows a lack of restraint, even gorging himself on food to the point of feeling very uncomfortable or becoming sick. His lack of self-control indicates that he has no real concern about the reproach he brings upon Jehovah and the good reputation of His people. (1?Corinthians 10:31) On the other hand, a person who overeats on a few occasions would not automatically be viewed as a “greedy person.” (Ephesians 5:5) Nevertheless, in the spirit of Galatians 6:1, such a Christian might need help. Paul states: “Brothers, even though a man takes some false step before he is aware of it, you who have spiritual qualifications try to readjust such a man in a spirit of mildness.”

Why is the Bible’s counsel to avoid excessive eating especially important today? Because, particularly regarding our day, Jesus warned: “Pay attention to yourselves that your hearts never become weighed down with overeating and heavy drinking and anxieties of life, and suddenly that day be instantly upon you as a snare.” (Luke 21:34,?35) Avoiding overindulgence in food is one important way to shun a spiritually damaging life-style.

Moderation is a Christian virtue. (1?Timothy 3:2,?11) Therefore, Jehovah will surely help all those who earnestly seek to apply the Bible’s counsel on moderate eating and drinking habits.—Hebrews 4:16.
Your question can sound like human discrimination but I'll take that you just are curious human being. There are many people who are fat because they are just born that way. If people get fat during early ages it's extremely, and I mean EXTREMELY difficult to lose fat and KEEP oneself skinny. Kids who happened to be unlucky and have parents who feed them Macdonald at least once a day can't go to hell. Some people have disease that the brain produces extra amount of hormones that makes them eat over and over again, like a pig almost. I'm an atheist and thus I don't believe in hell, but if all those people are sent to hell, I think it's too much. And besides, what is the definition of "fat" anyway? To anorexic people all of us are "fat". To my aunt who deals with highly obese patients, people over 100 kg are "fat". Then there's the national obese scale which says your height in centimetres minus your weight plusminus 5 is "normal". It's all perspective.
Why would they go to hell? The bible instructs us in how to live and treat our body. That's because God knows what's good for us, but if we decide not to treat our body as a temple, then He won't hate you for that. At the same time one can't blame God for the consequences later on.
OMG of course not!! That is horrible. If there truly is a God I dont understand why it would condemn people because of such innocent things. Besides, somewhere in that book doesn't it say something like 'As long as you accept him into your life, he accepts you'? I always hear people saying how forgiving 'he' is and whatnot. Its scary to think he would send people to Hell just because their a little overweight.
Most likely they will go to a special section of Heaven, called supersized area.
People are not their physical bodies which are only a temporary earth suit. Sin is defined as trying to meet legitimate human needs without God. The fat person may be trying to deal with emotional pain his way rather than God's. God helps those who are born from above or born again to eventually overcome all sin in their lives. The person inside the earth suit is what's important.
Only if they don't accept Jesus Christ and repent of their sins just like anyone else, overweight or underweight. Sounds like you are making fun of obese people . There are plenty of skinny people who eat more than overweight people. That's a rude comment. Weight has nothing to do with going to hell. Your sins do.
Only if they got fat eating pasta. Praying to the FSM is a surefire way to go to hell.
Going to hell in line with Islam is not determined by fat or thin the body of a person.Going to hell is determined by whether he/she has more bad doings than his/her good doings and he/she has no faith to Allah as the only one God.
