My family and I were at Old Country Buffet and we were walking up to the buffet when my mom saw a family pouring A1 sauce into the cap and letting the kid lick out of the cap *eww my mom went up to them and said somthing to them they called her mean a different lady went and took the sauce up to the front. But anyway do you think restrunt and buffets sould do somthing about thatOld Country Buffet help...?
I think the manager should have gone to the offending family and said somrthing to them. I applaud your mom!Old Country Buffet help...?
There isn't really much that can be done, other than watching customers like a hawk and maybe charging them for the bottle of sauce. I personally avoid buffet type restaurants because every time I went to one I saw someone put food on their plate, pick it up and take a bite (while at the buffet), lick their fingers and then pick up the next serving spoon. If I go to a buffet, after I get my food, I put it down and immediately go to the restroom to wash my hands before I eat. Just food for thought, haven't you ever been to a restaurant and seen someone shove their knife into the ketchup bottle to get it to flow? I see that all the time.Old Country Buffet help...?
In this situation, the manager should be informed. This would be an easy way for a foodborne illness outbreak to occur. However, you must realize that although managers should be monitoring the buffet, when you take food from a communal service arrangement like this you are immediately increasing your risk of foodborne illness. There is no way they can prevent all such occurrences of this type from occuring.
