New Year's Eve buffet dinner for 16?

I need some ideas for cold and hot buffet dishes, some of which I would like to prepare and freeze in advance, for a buffet dinner for 16 people. It will in the country and probably quite a cold night, so some hearty and game-y winter dishes would work well.New Year's Eve buffet dinner for 16?
I like to make chicken pie and it's the perfect sort of thing for this. You can freeze it unbaked then bake it right before the buffet or even an hour in advance.

Also good would be stews. If you like Indian food a crock pot full of tikka masala would be great. Chili is an obvious choice. If you have access to rabbit of venison you could make chili with those.

For buffets and pot lucks I like to make pasta salad but mine is different. I use acine de pepi pasta, which is shaped like little pencil erasers. When it is cold I add cumin, celery seeds, a burned hot pepper, lemon juice and zest and good olive oil and a touch of red wine vinegar. No mayo! I also like to add chopped cilantro, bits of browned Italian sausage or smoked fish.
We love 15 bean soup made with smoked ham hocks or pork neck bones. You can make it in advance and reheat it the day of. I always freeze my leftovers. Warm, flavorful, hearty and delicious, especially with a good crusty loaf of artisanal bread. Tortilla pinwheels are a fun and easy appetizer. You can spread anything on a tortilla; cream cheese and ham or roast beef slices, egg salad and fresh spinach, soft herbed cheese spreads, etc., roll them up then slice. I even make them with peanut butter and jelly for our granddaughters. We live in the Rockies and this is one of our favorite winter meals. Happy holidays!New Year's Eve buffet dinner for 16?
well, in the South you would do things to bring good luck for the new year. These are things such as Hoppin John ( blackeyed peas over rice ) for good luck

Greens for money in the new year

A corn dish for gold, this could be corn bread or even a corn pudding

I have a great recipe for the Hoppin' John, its very hearty and contains ham and is good and spicy and best of all, its fairly cheap to make. If you or anyone else would like it, let me know
lamb stew

fried chicken

potato casserole

spinach salad
