Why are almost all Chinese restaurants buffets?

I don't mean to be stereotypical. The only Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten at that isn't a buffet is this one in my country, Venezuela, and culturally, Venezuela isn't big on buffets (it might not have any). I think I also saw 1 in the chinatown in Houston but I didnt eat there %26amp; that's the only 1 in USA I remember. We actually eat Chinese food a lot. Besides those 2 I can't remember ever seeing any Chinese non-buffet restaurant. I hope people don't take this offesively.Why are almost all Chinese restaurants buffets?

My experience is almost the opposite of yours, at least in the USA where I live. I grew up in New York City, and now I live in Oregon. I've also lived in Boston, New Jersey, St. Louis, and Los Angeles. Nearly every Chinese or Asian restaurant I've been in has NOT been a buffet restaurant, although of course they do exist.Why are almost all Chinese restaurants buffets?
sounds like you don't get out that much. i have been in chinese restaurants all over the united states, canada, and germany. i would say there are more take-out chinese restaurants than there are buffets, and possibly more sit-down than buffets
It all depends on where you live. In the suburbs I've noticed that most are buffets, but as you get closer to the city there are more sit-down ones.
