Broccoli Casserole?

I went to the Old Country Buffet a few months ago for breakfast. I didn't think I was going to like it, but it wasn't bad. I really loved this egg, cheese and broccoli casserole they had. I have tried and tried to replicate this recipe to no avail. Does anyone know how to make this? I asked someone who worked there if they made it in house, and of course she said no, it came shipped, they just baked it.Broccoli Casserole?
Generously oil your casserole container with "Butter flavored" Crisco. Cut your Broccoli up bite sized using the stem and and buds. Mix in beat up eggs (number depends on the size of your container!) and crumbled up cheese (depending again on the size of the casserole container and on what kind of cheese you like) - I would suggest several different kinds of cheese.

Mix together real well and spread some more of the cheese over the top of the mixture in a thin layer before you put it into the oven.

Bake at 300 for approximately 15 - 20 minutes until the cheese on the top is bubbly and the Broccoli is baked all the way through. Check at 12 minutes since ovens differ in the degree of heat they generate.

Roughly for a small casserole I would use 4 eggs beaten slightly, 1 to 1 1/2 cups of the cheese and about four - five cups of the diced up Broccoli. (with Salt and Pepper to taste). - but this would be only a guesstimate to give you an idea of where to go from here. -

What you had was Broccoli and Cheese Quiche.

2 tablespoons butter

1 onion, minced

1 teaspoon minced garlic

2 cups chopped fresh broccoli

1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust (optional)

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese or cheddar

4 eggs, well beaten

1 1/2 cups milk

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon butter, melted

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Over medium-low heat melt butter in a large saucepan. Add onions, garlic and broccoli. Cook slowly, stirring occasionally until the vegetables are soft.

Spoon vegetables into crust or greased pie pan and sprinkle with cheese.

Combine eggs and milk. Season with salt and pepper. Stir in melted butter. Pour egg mixture over vegetables and cheese.

Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until center has set
