Twinkle, is that you???? Still at 371?
FIVE HOURS?
As for whether you CAN press charges, or seek civil damages, your best bet is to consult a lawyer about that.
I'm going to guess, however, that you won't have much of a case. While many restaurants will encourage patrons to linger, it's WITHIN REASON. An hour or two, fine, but five?
ADDENDUM: The price you paid for entry is based on certain assumptions made by the management in calculating the price. One of the parameters is that patrons will stay a certain amount of time at certain times of day, such as when it's slow or busy, then leave. In other words, turnover.
Built into this calculation is the overhead, which covers all sorts of things: the food, the utilities, rent, payroll, etc. You stayed well beyond that estimated time, continuing to eat their food. From their point of view, however, you were NOT contributing anything in the way of additional income to offset the costs incurred.
What I'd like to know is, were you charged with any offenses? Can I press charges against Old Country buffet for throwing me out?
Nope, look at the sign behind the register or the note at the bottom of the menu.
They reserve the right to refuse original or further service as long as they do not discriminate it is legal.
Being a pig, and a tasteless one to boot, Yuck, Old Country Buffet, is not a protected group.
You have a case but be aware they may have a valid counter suit for the rental of the fork lift they used to move you.Can I press charges against Old Country buffet for throwing me out?
um no! if you were there that long then thats kinda weird..lol and no offense but people dont just go around and throw people off the premisies! that's illegal! lol what did you do??
What are going to "press charges" about?
5 hours, I bet that was one heck of a turd
